What should I do if I suspect a child is being abused or neglected?
Whenever abuse is suspected, reporting it is essential, and in many cases, it's the law. A report is not an accusation; it's merely a request for an investigation and possible help for the family.
- For information on reporting suspected abuse, call PCA Georgia's Helpline toll-free within the state of Georgia at 1-800-CHILDREN or out of state at 404-870-6580.
- "Protecting Children How To Report Abuse or Neglect"
- To make a child abuse report, call your county's Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS).
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call the police. Remember, your identity and all information you provide are strictly confidential.
