What should I do?

If you are a mental health professional who serves adults and/or child survivors of child abuse, you should consider listing in the guide. Here are some of the benefits of listing:

  • PCA Georgia distributes the referral guide widely to child- and family-serving agencies and professionals.
  • PCA Georgia's Helpline staff use the guide to refer callers to mental health practitioners.
    The guide will be posted on this website.
  • Those listed receive a 10 percent discount off the registration fee for one survivor support clinical training each year.

Listing requirements

Listing is subject to application review by PCA Georgia's Standards Review Committee. You must satisfy the following prerequisites to be included in the guide:

  • master's, doctoral, or nursing degree in a mental health field;
  • documented clinical experience working with survivors and/or perpetrators of abuse;
  • professional licensure valid and current in Georgia;
  • current professional liability insurance 1m/1m;
  • 12 hours of continuing education relevant to child abuse and/or related issues with a minimum of three hours acquired in the two years preceding the application.

A registration fee of $50 covers a two-year listing.

For more information please call 404-870-6565 in metro Atlanta or toll-free 1-800-CHILDREN throughout Georgia.

Mental health practitioners who offer sliding scale and pro bono services are encouraged to apply to be listed, because many Georgians are in need of low-cost services.
